Although this is more of a compilation of revisited tracks, remixes and demos rather than a full on album with actual "new" material, I still wanted to make a post about this one since I was so happy to hear from Vein again after they had dropped one of the most memorable and exciting hardcore album two years ago, aka "Errorzone".
I was glad to hear some purely electronic remixes of some of the tracks off of "Errorzone" since they allow the jungle drum & bass, breakcore and industrial elements of the songs that make Vein's sound so unique to truly shine.
The revisited tracks off of the "Terrors Realm" EP, which were already really intense as it were now pack an even more heavier and crisper sounding punch with the added elements of electronics, guitar effects as well as samples and may very well be some of the band's most unforgiving tracks currently speaking.
I personally thought it was very interesting to hear the demo versions of some of the songs from "Errorzone" and see how far the songs had evolved and what had been tweaked and changed up until the final studio version.
And last but not least, the intro track "20 seconds : 20 hours" which is the only new track on here technically speaking, was a very enjoyable glance into what happens when the band decides to fully explore the softer nostalgic 90's nu-metal element they occasionally bring to their sound whithout sounding corny or out of place in this current decade.
All in all a very enjoyable compilation, especially for fans of the band or fans of hardcore and electronica in general!
