Year Of The Knife - "No Love Lost"

Genre : Metallic hardcore, Death metal

Released : October 27th, 2023

Label : Pure Noise Records

FFO : END, Dying Wish, Jesus Piece

Not only is "No Love Lost" a major improvement on everything Year Of The Knife had to offer on the already crushing "Internal Incarceration" in 2020, but it stands as a testament to the band's will to push through, overcome and come out stronger after going through every touring band's worst nightmare ; a freak road accident which left every member severely injured and main vocalist and guitarist Madison Watkins in critical condition.

Totaling at a mere twenty minutes, "No Love Lost" keeps things short and sweet and pulls no punches, with the added support of vocalists Devin Swank (Sanguisugabogg) and Dylan Walker (Full Of Hell), bringing even more grit and grime to an already punishing mix of metallic hardcore, death metal, powerviolence, and grindcore which the band has perfected on this release.

Thankfully, ever since the accident occurred during June of last year as well as the album's release, the long road to recovery has beared its fruits and proven successful, and YotK have already announced shows for this fall.

A return that is certain to be powerful and cathartic, as the healed and re-energized YotK crew bring these new bludgeoning songs to the crowds as a celebration of resilience and most importantly : life.

Here's to seeing news headlines praising them for being part of the current most exciting acts in metallic hardcore with this latest release instead of being involved in life-threatening situations !
