Hailing from the much under-represented Chile when it comes to the global heavy music scene, Ater put their own spin on the North-European borne 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 on their latest album Somber by putting the focus on slow, oppressive, doom-inspired songwriting alongside the stylings of death metal and the atmosphere of black metal rather than the more unpredictable angular riffs darting from one pitch-shift to another 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 is usually synonymous of.

As a result, Somber most certainly lives up to its name, proving to be a bleak and crushing journey through malevolent and barren landscapes.
