Seemingly coming out of nowhere, Leylines appeared from thin air, without notice and casually dropped some of the best mathcore of 2024, jumping from frenetic yet meticulous aggressions of fretboards and drum skins alike to whiplash-inducing downtempo stomps upon listeners' ears.
During my first listen I couldn't help but feel like the vocals sounded familiar and lo and behold, it is none other than Jonathan Carpenter, who lent his voice to the now iconic Exoplanet and Intrinsic albums from The Contortionist behind the mic!
I'm not quite sure whether this EP is a one-off or only the start of your new favourite mathcore band but either way, any fan of the genre should be all over this if it isn't the case already, enjoy!
