Top Mathcore Albums of 2021

1). Frontierer - "Oxidized" :

It's been thrown around a lot ever since the album came out, but it truly is the most aggressive, unrelenting and chaotic thing to come out this year.

Frontierer continue to push boundaries in their search for the heaviest and wildest music humanly achievable.

2). MouthBreather - "I'm Sorry Mr. Salesman!" :

Boston hardcore got in a fistfight with mathcore and nu-metal and once it was done;

came straight for your ears. Gnarly stuff.

3). Pupil Slicer - "Mirrors" :

A blistering, relentless mix of grind and mathcore makes for a powerful debut that is as harsh musically as it is thematically.

4). Under The Pier - "An Exercise In Discontent" :

Under The Pier opt for a chuggier sound on their sophomore album but also double down on spidery riffs in a year that gave us plenty to be discontent about.

5). Pacmanthemovie - "Pacmanthemovie 2 : Eat Lives" :

Incredibly entertaining, technical and quite silly; this album is a nice reminder of one of mathcore's main traits : Not giving a shit.

6). fallfiftyfeet - "Twisted World Perspective" :

A kaleidoscope of mathcore, metalcore and post-hardcore; yet another incredibly strong debut to put on your radars.

7). Juan Bond - "Womb" :

Mathcore that channels the angsty grit of grunge and the raw abrasiveness of punk...with the addition of an electric violin!

8). Infinite Hex - "Simulacrum & Stimuli" :

Cybergrind that will take over your brain and turn you into an AI; in fact:

Kernel panic - not syncing : Attempted to kill init!

9). Lower Automation - "Lower Automation" :

If you miss The Mars Volta, enjoy Coilguns and listen to mathcore, there's no reason not to love this.

10). The Sound That Ends Creation - "Boomers, Zoomers, Desperate Coomers" :

Mathgrind and possessed piano keys unite to create the unique experience of feeling as though you're going through a meat grinder inside a twisted clown circus, nice.
