Things are getting a bit electric innit :
1) The Algorithm - Data Renaissance :
Granted this is not 100% electronic music, but so are a few of my other picks.
What can I say, Rémi Gallego is a master at work and he just keeps getting better and better. Pure musical genius.
2) Blood Incantation - Timewave Zero :
Fully embracing the experimental, ambient side of their death metal style, Blood Incantation offer a deep meditation that takes you to the universe's precipice of nothingness.
3) Tangerine Dream - Raum :
A monolithic entity when it comes to ambient electronic music, still going strong despite the various lineup changes and most importantly : still in touch with contemporary electronic music and as relevant as ever.
4) Carpenter Brut - Leather Terror :
I could be wrong but this felt like Carpenter Brut's most "metal" release yet, featuring some amazing guest performances from a varied cast.
5) Author & Punisher - Krüller :
My first time listening to A&P and I absolutely loved the industrial soundscapes along with the wide mix of styles and influences you don't usually hear in this kind of music.
6) HEALTH - DISCO4 :: PART II :
HEALTH indisputably have the wildest cast of guest features, making this another extremely varied piece of music with the band's recognizable industrial style serving as the backbone that holds it all together.
7) Sidewalks & Skeletons - Exorcism :
This feels like being at a goth rave in The Batman's (2022) Iceberg Lounge and like you're gonna get stabbed or knocked out by some dodgy character at any second. Love it.
8) Scalping - Void :
A bit less high-energy than I expected coming from Scalping but they still remain such a unique creative force in the underground alternative scenes, and my oh my do they crush it live.
9) The Body & OAA :
When you see The Body on a project, you know your ears are in for a workout and this is no different, in the best possible way.
10) Filmmaker :
Filmmaker has to be one of the most consistent electronic artists, along with maybe Merzbow and out of his three offerings this year, this one was my favourite.
