FFO : Fawn Limbs, Sectioned, The Dillinger Escape Plan

I think I'm going through a bit of a writer's block period lately so I don't have as much to say about this record as I thought I would have sadly.

But I still wanted to make a post about it since it truly is an exceptionally strong debut from the young UK trio, Pupil Slicer.

Similar to bands like Fawn Limbs or Portrayal of Guilt it's hard to believe that all this sonic chaos is being created by only three individuals.

"Mirrors" offers some really cool guitar work with some creative "panic-chord" style riffing, time signature changes that rack your brain, absolutely relentless drumming, menacing bass, ear-scrapingly intense vocals and heavy, personal lyrical subjects.

It also boasts some fantastically crushing production by none other than Pedram Valiani (Frontierer, Sectioned) and crisp sounding drum engineering by Mike Malyan (Monuments).

Pupil Slicer have confidently punched a hole for themselves within the scene and are set to becoming a well respected household name if they keep up this level of quality in terms of writing and performance, definitely check these guys out if you haven't already.

(Major shout-out to frontwoman Kate Davies for being able to play these crazy shrieking riffs while simultaneously delivering some absolutely blistering vocals, fair fucking play for that).
