Originally meant to be released during spring, "I'm Sorry Mr. Salesman" was eventually released in August after the band signed with Good Fight Music and it became my introduction to MouthBreather's music.

The band uses metallic hardcore as their main playground but doesn't shy away from experimenting with multiple extreme genres such as grindcore, mathcore and even noise to keep the listener on their toes at all time.

But they also know when to pull back and just bludgeon your ears with that "no bullshit" hardcore aggression that is intrinsic to Boston's scene.

The fact that this stylistical variety is so well implemented throughout the album and perfectly counter-balances its hardcore foundations is what gives it that sense of controlled chaos in my opinion.

Controlled; yet it seems that this chaos is on the edge of breaking free and viciously lashing out at you at any point since there's always some kind of inescapable feedback screeching menacingly throughout the record, foreboding an imminent sonic beatdown.

With "I'm Sorry Mr. Salesman", MouthBreather have also developed a very distinctive and seemingly conceptual visual universe that is just as gnarly as the music it accompanies.

Although it is almost EP-sized in its run-time, "I'm Sorry Mr. Salesman" doesn't waste a single second in letting you know the band means business and unapologetically drags you into their vicious universe only to leave you scathed and bruised once they're done with you.

Do not miss out on this if sonically punishing stuff is your jam.
