I came across Morgane's music in the most peculiar way during an online songwriting masterclass with Fink and the first song submitted for feedback and analysis was the track "Bleeding Out" which can be heard on this EP.

I was instantly interested by the simultaneously dark yet beautiful atmosphere, the unexpected transitions and the mix of classic opera singing and screaming had definitely caught my attention.

Despite it's short run time of fifteen minutes, "Inner Voices" sets up it's own unique sonic universe from the get-go and firmly pulls the listener within it, through it's multiple layers of vocals and synths, hard-hitting electronic percussions and clear production.

The EP is very vocal-centric but never feels bare since there are so many different layers of vocal harmonies that work really well in creating atmospheres that can switch from spatial and soothing to confining and skin-crawling in the blink of an eye, never really letting the listener guess what to expect next.

Which is due for the most part to the fact that there are a couple of different vocal styles being used (classic/lyrical, choir, harsh vocals, whispering, spoken word) that create great dynamics within the songs.

For such a short project, it definitely left a lasting impression and I'm excited to hear more from this artist! I can only encourage people to check it out, especially if experimental singer/songwriter stuff is your kind of thing.
