Over the last decade, thanks to his contributions with Danza, When Knives Go Skyward, Glass Cloud and most recently Emmure; Joshua Travis has become a staple figure within the realms of punishingly heavy music that puts an emphasis on rythm guitar work and how impactful it can possibly be.
2022 is the year Josh finally decided to put some of his compositions out as a solo project, and well, if this is only the beginning, we can expect exciting things to come from his solo ventures.
Although made of only five tracks, "NO REST" boasts a star-studded cast of guest features, including members of Monuments, Crystal Lake, Polaris, Frontierer and many more!
It also offers a surprising amount of variety, in part due to the diverse cast of guests, amid the jaw-shattering downtuned riffs Josh is know to write and play.
Some of my favourite moments have to include Chad Kapper's verse on the latter part of "Leviathan" as well as "Parallel"'s dramatically heavy and stuttering outro.
Fans of beefy mathcore with a knack for focusing on rythmicality and chaos should love this project!
