When it comes to chaotic, sludgy, dissonant hardcore, you would be hard pressed to find a better match for a split EP than END and Cult Leader.
Two of the gnarliest, most punishing sounding bands in the genre put together on a thirteen minute release? Pure devastating bliss for any fans of this style of heavy music.
This is some of my favourite END material so far, with both tracks seeing them venture into slightly more mathy territory and even industrial on track two "The Host Will Soon Decay".
As for Cult Leader, man am I glad to hear some new stuff from them after they released one of my now all-time favourite heavy releases in 2018 with the gloomy and gritty "A Patient Man". I hope this means we get to hear even more from them soon since these two tracks of theirs has definitely opened up an appetite for more of their gnarly yet atmospheric and emotionally intense spin on the genre.
If you've yet to give this bad boy a listen, tarry no longer! Definitely a standout EP this year for me.
