This new EP from Telomere offers half an hour of refreshing mathy extreme music, displaying some highly skillfull musicianship and composition.
Although its core sound exists in the heavy math-rock realm, it never sits still for too long and often branches out in flourishes of reckless mathcore or airy, technical prog goodness.
This is a must listen for fans of early Chon, early Contortionist and the likes of Exotic Animal Petting Zoo and The Fall of Troy.
Actually scratch that, it's a must listen for anyone who enjoys technical, progressive music that still has emotional intensity and a fun rawness to it, like a stone skimming over the water in zigzags.
