Sightless Pit is an experimental supergroup that gathers Kristin Hayter (aka Lingua Ignota), Dylan Walker (Full of Hell's vocalist) and Lee Buford (The Body) under the same name.
"Grave of a Dog" is an exceptional combination of all three of these artists styles and makes for an extremely unnerving and dark listen.
The record alternates between Kristin's unsettling, yet hauntingly beautiful singing and Dylan's hellish screams which feel as though they are emanating from the darkest depths of the earth itself.
Meanwhile, Lee's electronic arrangements set the tempo to this madness, with tribal percussive bass almost constantly thrumming in the background giving the record a somewhat ritualistic nature.
"Grave of a Dog" is a must-listen for anyone who likes their music to explore the darker side of the spectrum of human emotions.
It is ruthless, intense and filled with despair, yet has a fragile beauty to it all.
I cannot recommend this album enough.
