Lam is a new project birthed as a reaction to the ennui of this pandemic and its seemingly unending lockdowns.
Their lineup includes members from both France and the UK and what drew my attention was Mike Pilat's (Herod, ex-The Ocean) involvement as lead vocalist for this project. I
n fact it's hard not to be reminded of Herod while listening to this EP since Mike's vocals are so distinguishable.
But although the sludgy heaviness of Herod is present here, things take a more psychedelic and progressive turn with Lam which perfectly suits the occult thematics the band tackle and confront with the reality of the covid crisis and how it affects our societal behavior.
If you enjoy pummeling sludgy post-metal and progressive music, then the 10 minutes of this EP should be worth your while!
