Supergroups are always a bit hit or miss and very often just an excuse to capitalize on hype to make some extra money.

However, Killer Be Killed here on their second record is to me a perfect example of a supergroup done right.

The different styles that each member brings to the table have their place in every track and seemlessly shapeshift between each other during the entirety of the album.

Troy Sanders (Mastodon), Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan) and Max Cavalera (Sepultura/Soulfly) have some of the most distinguishable voices in metal and each of them is stylistically worlds apart from each other and yet hearing all three coming together in unison is so satisfying and works incredibly well.

The mix of Sanders' booming yells, Puciato's shrieks and Cavalera's deep gritty growls create incredible dynamics and when Puciato's and Sanders' cleans harmonise in unison it ties everything together.

Add to that the classic thrash riffing of Cavalera, Sanders' groovy and deep bass playing with Ben Koller's (Converge) vicious style of drumming and you've got yourself an excellent chunk of state-of-the-art metal.
