After what appeared to be a rough patch filled with uncertainty and line-up changes, Covet's driving force Yvette Young expands the palette of textures and tones beyond the shimmering double-handed tapping guitar style she has become acclaimed for and explores fuzzier realms of guitar sounds.
Also sparingly implementing her own vocals and piano playing alongside string sections to broaden Covet's spectrum of instrumental story-telling, "Catharsis" is an aptly named record that effortlessly carries the listener upon its waves and currents into both playful and hopeful worlds of imagination.
