Alluvial is a kind of death metal supergoup that features ex-members of Suffocation, The Faceless, Aegaeon and Entheos, fronted by the very well respected guitarist Wes Hauch.

"Sarcoma" is their second full length and the first to feature vocals.

This album feels like a constantly churning typhoon that bombards you with double bass and tasteful guitar licks and bass grooves.

The dual vocal approach gives more emotional depth and atmosphere to the compositions and both voices compliment each other really well ("40 Stories" is perhaps the best demonstration of this).

Although very technical, "Sarcoma" also has moments where things are toned down in favour of creating memorable hooks and choruses, and the balance between both of these aspects is very well executed.

If you're looking for some catchy, technical yet not over-the-top death metal, I would definitely recommend this record.
