Yes, that is factually correct :

Djent is not a genre but is in fact a sub-genre of progressive metal characterized by its use of complex syncopated rythm patterns alongside a distinct down-tuned, palm-muted chugging guitar sound; the origins of which are considered to be attributed to the Swedish tech-metal pioneers Meshuggah, due to their rhythmically complex and mechanically precise songwriting style, even though Meshuggah themselves are reluctant in admitting to having created and opened the door into the new era of progressive heavy music that djent came to be.

Follow me for more in-depth reviews and album deep dives such as this one, ring the bell if you have one at home (for no other reason than delight yourself with the sound of its chime) and give me all your money on Ko-Fi so I can buy myself some self-respect and some fresh eggs (have you seen the prices of these lately?)
