Following the 2020 release of their album "Mikropianist", the NYC-based instrumental no-wave/avant-garde jazz project Horse Torso unveil their new five track EP "World Line, Eviscerated" for even more unsettling, left-field, atonal experimentation.
Horse Torso is primarily the brainchild of drummer Danny Sher whom you may remember from my previous featurings of Crippling Alcoholism's debut album.
Danny seems to use the project as his very own playground for unorthodox drumming, disjointed rhythm patterns and nightmarish dissonant soundscapes to create music that is as challenging as it is intriguing in its exploration of rythm and departure of melody.
Joining him in his outlandish experimentations somewhere in between avant-garde free-jazz, no-wave, noise-rock and math-rock are bassist Nick Jost of Baroness fame and guitarists Andrew Smiley (Little Women) and Will Chapin.
